Basketball Shooting: what to know before playing

Take a moment with Basketball Shooting before moving to another game. Score as many baskets as possible from ten shots. Look at what changes after your first action. Choose a comfortable screen position before beginning. Use the example below to understand a decision.

One hoop, ten shots, gravity and rim/backboard collisions.

Build familiarity through play

Keep the stated aim separate from side details such as animation or appearance. Progress is measured by the game’s own completion or scoring rules. Notice the feedback after each input.

Your goal

Score as many baskets as possible from ten shots. Read that aim before choosing your first action. Return to the instructions when a step is unclear.

How a round unfolds

  1. Set angle and power.
  2. Shoot.
  3. A downward crossing inside the rim scores.
  4. Adjust for another shot.

The controls to know

Touch aim, sliders and Shoot; Space fires. On a smaller screen, keep the active part of the board within view. Make sure you are interacting with the game rather than the surrounding page.

Follow the example

A rising crossing does not score until a downward entry occurs. Focus on why the action is allowed, not only its outcome. Notice the change in the playing area.

One detail worth checking

Backboard contact alone is not a basket. Compare the situation with the worked example. Before your first action, say what you are trying to achieve. Then compare the result with the goal.
